For the last year it seemed as if Meta was a bit behind in the AI race, but now we can clearly see that they made their homework. Going the open source route will make sure that Llama3 can be used by many smart developers all over the world.
We’ll see what OpenAI will announce soon and then we will see what Google wants to do with all the 100 billion $ earmarked for AI. The future of AI will sure be interesting. If they can get enough cheap power for all the datacenters…
