Five Things AI: Agents, Assistants, Enterprise Apps, AI Hardware, AI Audiences
Here we go again. Another week of rapid development in the AI industry. Buckle up!
Hi and welcome back to Five Things AI! My name is Nico Lumma and every week I like to share five interesting articles about AI with you. So instead of researching for hours on the web, just read these five articles here and you are all set. As I’m saving you a couple of hours every week, I’d really appreciate it if you could go paid and spend the equivalent of one large café latte on this newsletter.
Thanks!
When Altman talks about AI agents, I think he wants to make sure that everybody anxiously awaits ChatGPT-5. I’m sure that agents will indeed be the next thing, but I doubt that it will be the huge USP for OpenAI. At least not for long. I’ve seen startup pitches about distributed AI agents years ago, so this development is no surprise. I’m sure everybody will catch up on this soonish.
And maybe we’ll even get AI hardware that’s actually usable, until then the smartphone will have to do. Just don’t try Siri, yet, because Apple is still playing catch up.
I’m pretty stoked about the development of AI in the enterprise space. This will change not only the workplace, but also lots of business models. I like change.
Sam Altman says helpful agents are poised to become AI’s killer function
Altman sketches a future where we have AI agents doing work for us. To me this sounds like he’s trying a new narrative after the initial growth of OpenAI has slowed down.
Meta’s A.I. Assistant Is Fun to Use, but It Can’t Be Trusted
After reading this I wondered why Meta launched this AI product so soon. The potential is great, but this seems a bit premature, even for a beta.
The Unsexy Future of Generative AI Is Enterprise Apps
It really depends on how you define sexyness, but I also think that AI will unleash most of its power in an enterprise setting.
The Reality & Optimism of AI Hardware
It’s good to have a different and optimistic viewpoint on the current state of consumer AI hardware. After reading some of the reviews I’m glad I didn’t spend any money on mostly useless devices, though.
Fake Livestream Apps With AI Audiences
This is truly bizarre.
