Hello again, and welcome back to Five Things Tech!

Every Saturday, I give you a quick glance at what is going on in the weirdly wonderful and exciting world of tech. And every week, I try to look beyond the obvious headlines, because I assume you have already read them elsewhere.

This week we deal with the accelerated exodus of Twitter users. Even Stephen King left and if the king of horror is appalled by something and cannot stand it anymore, that should tell you something. I still have 29.1k followers on X, as Twitter is now called and I still haven’t made the jump. I do check Twitter a lot less than I used to do. Mostly I retweet stuff like Morgan Freeman’s daily post about the stormin of the Capitol on January 6th. Even though there are options now that try to replace Twitter, they feel different. I spend some time on Threads, but it is not the same. Oh, you can also find me on Substack Notes, which is pretty fun and informative as well, even though it is also not like Twitter in the good old days.

Every week I find at least one article that I read and then not only think “wow, I didn’t know that!”, but where I also do not really understand any of the technical terms explained in the article. Or do you know what aerobraking means? I sure didn’t, but the article is really insightful and if I ever accidently become an astronaut and need to steer a spaceship, I will remember this article explaining the conecept of aerobraking.

Without further ado, here are today’s Five Things Tech! 🚀
