Hello again, and welcome back to Five Things Tech!

The second month of the year has just started and it’s safe to say that this will be a very interesting year. While Trump is trying to push at least two outrageous ideas forward everyday to distract us from how Elon Musk is trying to dismantle democratic institutions, Big Tech is still trying to schmooze with the administration. At the same time China is pushing forward and it looks like Big Tech is getting some unwanted competition. Let’s see how this evolves, especially during a phase with higher than zero interest rates. If we’ll have less unicorns in the future, how will this change Silicon Valley?

Oh, and I really enjoyed the article about the spy satellite from the cold war that was loaded with tech. Just compare that to the power of drones - and the costs associated with this new wave of tech.
