Five Things Tech: Robotaxis, Apple AI, Meta Community Notes, Quantum Hype, Solar Growth
Everything you should read about Tech right now.
Hello again, and welcome back to Five Things Tech!
While this was not the best week for tech stocks, it was interesting to see how people reacted to the freefalling Tesla stock. While the automaker has been overvalued for many years, I doubt people realized that the stock price could go down so quickly. While the growth of EV has slowed down in Germany, the demand for Tesla crashed, which is good for German and Chinese manufacturers. Would you step into a Tesla Robotaxi? While I assume that Tesla has many really bright people working for the company, I would fear that ultimately Elon Musk would make decisions based on his absurd belief system. The trust in the company is gone. What would you do? Oh, and while we’re on the subject of Robotaxis: in my hometown of Hamburg the VW subsidiary Moia has been running a fleet of EV minibusses that carry 6 passengers in a ride-sharing setup and is now testing autonomous versions on the routes through the city. This sounds so much better than having more individual traffic.
Also in this edition of Five Things Tech: how is Apple coming along with its AI offering and what can we expect? Then a first look at Meta’s version of the community notes and why this matters. I read a lot about Quantum and guess what? There’s lot’s of hype surrounding Quantum! And finally: some good news about solar in the USA!
