Five Things Tech: European Semiconductors, Mini Nuclear Reactors, Quantum Sensors, AI Generated Code, Under Water Carbon Capture
Everything you should read about Tech right now.
Hello again, and welcome back to Five Things Tech!
I have to admit that by just looking at the topics of this newsletter, it seems like some random tech hodge podge that somebody somehow put together. And that’s about right. Every Saturday I try to curate five articles from the wonderful world of technology that I read and that I think are worth sharing. For instance, I think it is more necessary than ever to push for more and better semiconductor production in Europe as we need to be more independent in the hard- and software we use. Also, I don’t think nuclear power plants will be the solution for the current and future energy demands. Solar and wind are growing at a much faster trajectory than nuclear would ever be able to - and aside from that solar and wind are much cheaper and don’t have the nuclear waste problem, which is why Germany turned off all its nuclear plants and it is not going dark here anytime soon. Could you imagine something like GPS, but 50 times more accurate and impossible to tamper with? Well, then read about what is happening in Australia right now. And if you are a developer, read about how Salesforce is using AI to generate much more code while giving developers something back that they always wanted: time. Then we turn to climate tech and look at how underwater carbon capture works and why this makes sense.
That’s it for this week - enjoy this edition of Five Things Tech!
Happy Eastereggs! 🐣
