Five Things Tech: EU Tax, Tech Kissing Trump's Ring, Apple Tariffs, US Smartphone, Transit Las Vegas
Everything you should read about Tech right now.
Hello again, and welcome back to Five Things Tech!
What a week. Did you rush to order a new iPhone or laptop before the prices double? Or do you live in Europe where you wake up every morning and are astonished by the latest news from the Orange Maniac in the White House? As I am always trying to stay positive, I think this is a good wake-up call for Europe to really get its tech-stack in order. We are too dependent on both China and the USA. The recent developments have shown that we need to focus more on our digital sovereignty and push our own innovation forward. With a new government in Germany almost in place, I assume that the axis France, Germany and Poland will briskly move forward.
Let’s see how this develops. Also, I’d rather still be using my Macbook and my iPhone, as I have been using Apple products for over 30 years and really got used to it. But I doubt I’d be interested in paying twice as much for it. I am even less interested in a domestically produced smartphone that also costs twice as much, but is based on older tech.
Anyhow, enjoy this edition of Five Things Tech!
