Here we go again - welcome back to Five Things Tech!

So this week the articles I picked for you deal with AI, TikTok, solar, space and dust. Somehow, they are all connected, in some ways or another… Over the past few days, the headlines point to a world in massive flux: AI investments are exploding to highway-system levels with no clear return in sight, yet the bet is that not everyone will win - classic tech gold rush dynamics at play. Meanwhile, geopolitical games bend the rulebook, with Trump and Xi’s TikTok saga showing how power can override legislative norms, and Larry Ellison quietly eclipsing other tech titans in the process. China, meanwhile, is thinking bigger than ever, reimagining solar deployment at a scale Europe can barely fathom, pushing the boundaries of what “sustainability” could be. Up in the sky, satellite megaconstellations like Starlink are rewriting humanity’s relationship with space, with implications we’re only starting to grasp. And then there’s the unsettling twist: clearing up “dirty” air is apparently accelerating climate change. Five stories, all mapping out a world that’s scaling up, speeding up, and constantly surprising us, whether we’re ready or not. And as always, these five stories give you a glimpse of what I am reading these days and what I am thinking about.

Thanks for your readership and attention!
