Five Things Tech: AI Regulation, Quantum Computing, Cybersecurity, Typeform, Wood
There's so much going on in Tech. Read this now to stay in the know.
What is tech? Or what isn’t it? Right now, tech is starting to be everywhere. Is this overwhelming? Sure. Will this make the world any better? Hopefully.
I’m Nico, I have been involved in tech for over 20 years and I still enjoy it. There’s so much going on, so many developments happen, that have a huge impact on our economy and society.
Right now everybody talks about AI and obviously about regulation - but please pay more attention to quantum computing. This will be huge, Just nobody knows when. That’s why you need attention. Oh, and also keep would in mind if you want to build a space shuttle.
How the World Must Respond to the AI Revolution
“But if Americans and Soviets could build a working arms control infrastructure in the 1970s and 80s, the U.S. and China can build an equivalent for the 21st century. Let’s hope they realize they have no choice before a catastrophe makes it unavoidably obvious.” - and let’s hope the EU gets their first and pushes the US into the right direction. (Time)

Everybody talks about AI, but Quantum Computing is still around and kicking. What’s Quantum? Find out here. (FT)
Is cybersecurity an unsolvable problem?

Did US hustle mentality ruin Typeform?
Interesting look at how a startup needs to move fast and doesn’t do everything right, burning through a big pile of cash. I like Typeform and it was a big leap forward, but it is so easy to copy, I really wonder where the VC imagined the often mentioned “defendability”. (Sifted)

I’m still amazed that bamboo is being used to build huge scaffolding for skyscraper construction sites, but how cool is it to use wood to build satellites? (Independent)
