There's so much going on in Tech. Read this now to stay in the know.
What is tech? Or what isn’t it? Right now, tech is starting to be everywhere. Is this overwhelming? Sure. Will this make the world any better? Hopefully.
I’m Nico, I have been involved in tech for over 20 years and I still enjoy it. There’s so much going on, so many developments happen, that have a huge impact on our economy and society.
This week was obviously a lot about the current developments in AI. So much in fact that I just started Five Things AI - compiling five articles on AI every week for you. As well as many others. Read on, my dear.
OpenAI launches free ChatGPT app for iOS
This launch came pretty much unexpected. This is what Siri promised to be, just text, not voice - but it can be so much more. OpenAI has been so successful in building up a user base of its own and with the launch of the OpenAI plugin infrastructure this app can become a real super app. (The Verge)
From Fruit Roll-Ups to a fish filet, Israeli startup ready to feed its printer
This is great news, but in a few years, this will be just normal. Just try to remember when veggie or vegan burger patties that looked like the real thing were a brand new thing and we were amazed by what’s possible. This food printer is even more amazing, yet we will get used to this way to create food in just a few years time. And think about all the ramifications of this. (Times of Israel)
This biotech startup wants to color your clothes with natural proteins—not toxic dyes
Fashion and pollution go hand in hand. The startup Werewool creates lab grown proteins to color clothes. Why is this important? The circular economy can revolutionize the fashion industry and this novel way to color clothes can be an important step into the right direction. (Fast Company)
Venture-Fund Returns Show Worst Slump in More Than a Decade
For years there was talk about the bubble being about to burst. Yet it didn’t, it grew. And now it burst. The startup valuations are going down, startups are having a hard time raising new rounds and the funds are seeing a huge dent in their performances. (Wall Street Journal)
Silicon Valley’s Civil War
