Hi, and welcome to Five Things Running! My name is Nico, I’m 50 years old and I live in Hamburg. And I’m a runner. A runner who reads a lot about running. Right now I feel like I’m at least 80 because my lower back still gives me problems and my glutes still hurt. Yet the 3km I ran this week were amazing. My doc said I should do a nice and easy jog: “nice and easy means 5km, not 20km, ok?” Well, I still don’t feel like I should be running, so I’ll be patient at wait a few days until I try again. This sucks.
On a much more positive note: I read some pretty good stuff about running, so please go ahead and read Five Things Running now.
Keep on running!

Running Alone
I can so relate to this. I like running alone, I like being with my thoughts, I like being somewhere in the woods, just by myself, I like leaving the city behind, I like being out there alone. (Medium)
Meghann's Boston Race Recap
If you wonder why you should read an article called “Meghann’s Boston Race Recap”, then please let me explain: Meghann is a nutrionist and talks about running and nutrion on the Fuel for the Sole podcast. So her race recap is a lot about nutrion and quite insightful. And it is amazing how many bagels one person can eat in such a short time. (Featherstone Nutrion)
The 10 Best Vegan and Sustainable Running Shoes Right Now
We all need new shoes every once in a while and it is good to see that there are more and more options out there that try to make an effort to be sustainable. I think this can only be the beginning. (Future VVorld)
Do This To Keep Your Passion Of Running Burning Stronger Than Ever
This is a good reminder that routine can be nice (or necessary), but change some things every once in a while to keep running interesting or even challenging. I tried running with airpods a few months ago and now I listen to podcasts, something I never did before. Quite amazing what you can listen to during one long run. (Medium)
Want to Improve Your Health? Research Suggests Taking a “Nature Pill.”
I didn’t need research for this, but it is very reassuring that we’re doing something good for our health by running through nature. (Trailrunner)
That’s all for now! I hope your Sunday runs were better than mine!
