Yesterday I ran the Hamburg Marathon. For exactly 12 km and then I couldn’t really lift my left leg anymore, so I stopped running. It was a perfect morning, I felt awesome and the pain in my lower back that I had experienced a week ago was gone. Or so I thought. I’m pretty sure that I have a tear in my hamstring, at least this it what it feels like and yes, I had this before and I don’t look forward to not running for at least 6 weeks. I also do not look forward to my doc telling me I should do something like swimming.
Anyhow, the best part of the weekend was when my youngest daughter and a couple thousand other elementary school kids all ran a tenth of a marathon. There was so much energy, so much camaraderie, so much joy. It was an awesome event.
