Five Things Running: Issue #6
Keep on running! And also take some breaks. But don't eat too much Easter candy!
I wanted to get so much running done last week, instead I ate too much candy and rested a lot. Hopefully this gets me well into the last two weeks before the Hamburg Marathon on April 23rd. I hope spring finally kicks in, it has been too cold for April so far. And on Sunday there was a huge fire in Hamburg so I had to deviate from my normal route around the Alster as people were advised to keep the windows shut and I somehow thought that running also wouldn’t be the best idea in these conditions.
How’s your running going so far this year?

Eliud Kipchoge Holds the World Record. But He Won’t Set a New Record in the 2023 Boston Marathon
I think he’ll do just fine running in Boston. But I also learned that I didn’t have a clue about how official marathon courses are being measured.
What Do You Listen to While You Run?
This is probably the one question every runner has an answer to or at least an opinion about. I listen to running podcasts, which is kind of meta. I will try an audio book soon, which is something I never do. Also, I still like running without anything in or on my ears a lot.
What I Learned Running 30 Days in a Row
Every year I try to run every day and every year after a week or so my body tells me that this is not the smartest idea for me. But I do like the commitment it takes to run every day. I’ll try it again.
How to Improve Your “Fitness Range”
One thing I’m also contemplating every year: joining a gym. But I’d rather be outside running.
My Training With Kilian & Coros: Month 1 Recap
Wow, ok, this sounds like a cool training program. It couldn’t be any cooler than having Coach Kilian commenting on your weekly training runs. When I saw that exclusive offering, I thought this was just some pseudo coaching session, mostly done by other people.
That’s all for now! I hope you liked this edition of Five Things Running!
