Last Wednesday I was invited to the opening of the New Balance store in Hamburg and this was celebrated by a nice community run. Also I got to test the new Fresh Foam X 1080v13, which is a really fun shoe to run in. As I usually run just by myself, running with a bunch of people actually was quite fun. But I have to admit that when we did some stretching before and after the run, all those young people seemed to be less stiff than I was… So this was my little Runfluencer action last week. Will run for shoes. Even though this time they were just a test pair for 5 km.
In other news, fall finally kicked in and I get to run in rain again, which I actually like quite a bit. I just need to get a better rain jacket, but that’s a different story which I will tackle after some research…
Here’s today’s Five Things Running!
The Golden Age of Running Is Coming — Ready or Not
Marathons will get faster, but I would argue that the Golden Age of Running will be much more than “just” Marathons, there will be so much more happening in the wonderful world of trail running as well. Just look at all the amazing finishes by Courtney Dauwalter, Jim Walmsley, Tom Evans and others.

Splitting Long Runs: Is It OK To Split Up My Long Runs?
I would never do that. Two reasons: I have a hard time finding the time for one run and I couldn’t find the time for two. Also I like the long runs because after 15 km I get into this Zen-like state and I just wouldn’t get that when I split up the long run into two runs. Would you split up the long runs?

That’s all for now!
