Five Things Running: Issue #30
Read this, then go running. Or go running first and then read this.
Last weekend I did an amazing quick hack for my fueling during a long run. Well, it’s not that amazing, but rather obvious. The only thing is that I finally got around to testing it out. I had bought a GU soft flask a long time ago and I always meant to use it instead of all the small little plastic packs. I tried it a while ago with maple syrup and that was a real mess with me running for 20km with sticky fingers and sticky everything as I somehow managed to spill a lot over me while drinking during a long run. So last weekend I used some honey with lemon flavor that we got in a goodie bag after an event a few weeks ago. Since my wife expressed her disapproval of putting lemon into honey, I thought I could just put this honey in the flask and try it out. You know what? It worked like a charm. No more excess plastic packaging and a lot less costly than those individual sachets.
Also I tried out Lucho Dillitos for the first time. Those chews are amazing!
Ok, so this turned into Feeding a Runner real quick, but proper nutrition is so important, they say.
