Five Things Curator's Cut: February 2025
It's the second Curator's Cut of the Year! Read it now!
Hello and welcome to the Five Things Curator’s Cut for February 2025 in which you can read five great articles that didn’t make it into the weekly cut. These articles were so good, I had to save them for my most esteemed readers, the ones that pay to read Five Things. If you haven’t subscribed yet, now would be a good time!
So this February we should talk about billionaires. For a while it seemed that there where enough billionaires around who wanted to use all their wealth to do something good. I’m a strong believer in paying taxes and elect people who will then spend the money according to democratic principles instead of one guy just deciding what he will focus his philantropic efforts on. But it is even worse when billionaires band together to destroy democracy for their own personal wealth.
Also, we should talk about Youtube, which is still growing and now has more viewers on tv screens than on mobile screens. That is a massive shift.
Have you ever met people who just have money because their parents have money and they can live a lifestyle that is far beyond what you can afford? Read more about these people in this edition of the Five Things Curator’s Cut.
Finally, we take a look at why young people in Germany are voting for the extreme right party that JD Vance and Elon Musk find so attractive, and we take a hopeful look at Ukraine and why the Ukraine will not lose the war.
Enjoy!
