In this week’s Five Things AI we’ll take a look at how AI is being used to protect underwater cables and pipelines from rogue actors who want to tamper with our communication systems. Then we will learn about the Brussels Effect, which essentially means that the EU AI Act will be adopted in one way or another in the US as well, even though the administration in Washington, D.C. is against it. We will also look at the challenges European startups face when it comes to developing AI products. Meanwhile, Anthropic has compiled an economic index to show the impact AI has on various industries, which is a pretty fascinating read. Finally, we deal with a question almost everybody is facing right now: which AI should I choose for my personal usage?
