Heya and welcome back to Five Things AI!

Just a week ago I switched to the new Comet browser and I now use Perplexity as my default search tool, which offers vastly different results than the good old Google. It’s interesting to see that Google now has to play catchup with a well-funded startup. Innovation never stops and we see Clayton Christiansen’s innovator’s dilemma in full force here.

We also see massive new challenges on the horizon as AI datacenters are getting bigger and bigger and more power-hungry, we also witnessed the first huge bankruptcy of a massively funded AI startup. Is this a sign of a new bubble? I don’t think so, it’s just a sign of people getting to greedy. I think Dario Amodei is one of the smartest people in the field and it is interesting to learn more about him. Agentic AI is a huge topic for me and I was really curious when I learned about OpenAI’s Agents, but so far this sounds like a lot of hype with little real substance. Finally, let’s have a look at China’s AI strategy, which is quite comprehensive.

Enjoy!
