Five Things AI: Agents, Astra, Recall, Training Data, Computer Vision
What a week. Again. TGIF.
Heya and welcome back to Five Things AI!
This week was full of excited about really cool releases, like OpenAI’s Sora and Google’s Gemini 2.0. The pace is picking up, again, in the AI space.
So, how excited are you about Sora? GenerativeAI and video - this can be a game changer for a lot of things. Right? Or will we get bored by the fake stuff and yearn for good old stuntmen and -women again after seeing a few super slick movies that lacked the human touch? I had a conversation with an old friend yesterday about exactly this: the human touch and AI. He really has a point. So he created HybridAI - for less boring conversations between humans and AI chatbots.
Remember that you read it here first, the human touch in AI matters.
In this week’s selection of Five Things AI you’ll learn about AI Agents and safety (and why it should be called “alien intelligence”), you can read about Google’s new project Astra, which sounds like the Siri killer. If you think Microsoft Recall is a bad idea, read about how it works and what it can do for you. Did you know that the AI companies are running out of training data? I didn’t and it is a really interesting problem to have. And finally, let’s read about AI and 3d and how that, once again, will change everything.
Enjoy!
